How to get there: From San Juan international airport there are two ways to arrive in Vieques, by plane or ferry. There are four airlines that take you to Vieques. #1 Vieques Air Link  tel. 888-901-9247. #2 Isla Nena tel. 877-812-5144. #3 Cape Air tel. 800-352-0714. The approximate price from San Juan to Vieques is $165 round trip. It is also possible to take a taxi to the Fajardo airport and fly round trip for $44 plus the taxi ride.  Flying from Fajardo can save you quite a bit. The second way is to take a taxi to the ferry. The taxis (it is best to look for a van taxi for large parties) picks you up in front of the airport and will bring you to the town of Fajardo where the ferry departs. The 1 hour taxi ride is approx. $80 for the first person and $5 for each additional person. Extra baggage is additional.  The 1 hour 20 min ferry ride is $2 for adults and $1 for children. It is safe to have at least 3 hours from the time your plane arrives in San Juan to the time your ferry leaves.

There are several car rentals and reservations should be made well in advance.

The Bioluminescent Bay is perhaps one of the most spectacular sights.  Whatever you do, don't miss the Bioluminescent bay on your tour - it's the sight eco-tourists from all over the world come to Vieques to see.  DO NOT MISS TAKING A DIP IN IT!!!
